  • This PAIA Manual is useful for the public to :
  • check the categories of records held by Governance@Work which are available without a person having to submit a formal PAIA request;
  • have a sufficient understanding of how to make a request for access to a record, by providing a description of the subjects on which the body holds records and the categories of records held;
  • know the description of the records which are available in accordance with any other legislation;
  • access contact details of the Information Officer;
  • know the description of the guide on how to use PAIA, as updated by the Regulator and how to obtain access to it;
  • We have a Privacy Policy written in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information, Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) which may be accessed on our website. This PAIA Manual and the Privacy Policy must be read in conjunction with each other.

We are a consulting company which provides governance and compliance services, keynote addresses, mentoring & coaching; and team building/development which instils governance implementation through the play of childhood games.   1.  INFORMATION REGULATOR GUIDELINES FOR REQUESTERS ON HOW TO USE THE ACT 
  • A Guide has been compiled in terms of Section 10 of PAIA Act by the Information Regulator. It contains information to assist a person wishing to exercise a right in terms of PAIA and POPIA. The Guide is updated from time to time.
  • A copy of the Guide, in at least two of the official languages are available for public inspection from Monday to Friday during our business hours.
  • Should any person require a copy of the Guide, or any part thereof, they may contact us using Form 1 of Annexure A to the PAIA Regulations. Prescribed fees as provided for by the PAIA Regulation will be charged for reproduction and postage.
  • The Guide, and any amendments thereto, form part of this Manual.

  • The recordal of the subjects and categories below is also not an indication that all the information is available for public consumption nor does not imply that a request will automatically be granted. Information that is automatically available without having to make a request in the prescribed form is itemised below.
  • All requests for access will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis on their own merits due consideration will be made. We also reserve the right to decline to grant access in accordance with the law.

  1. RECORDS AUTOMATICALLY AVAILABLE

Records which are automatically available without having to make a request in the prescribed form include the following:

  • All information contained on our Website and LinkedIn profile

  

  1. REQUESTS FOR ACCESS TO INFORMATION
  • It is important to note that the successful completion and submission of an access request form does not automatically allow or guarantee the requester access to the requested records.
  • An application for access to a record is subject to certain limitations if the requested record protects certain rights and falls within a certain category as specified with Part 3 and Chapter 4 of the PAI Act.
  • In order to facilitate a timely response to requests for access, requesters should ensure that all the requirements are met.
  • We may refuse you access to records where grounds for such exist.
  • Should a requester be unsatisfied with the decision, a complaint may be lodged in writing to the Information Regulator.
